I read the wonderful obit and was touched. Didn't know the Foote family but the history of his land he tended to, moved me to comment. This land was part of the indian lands granted via treaties to the Wea indians. Christmas Dagenette settled on this land. These Weas came from Terra Haute, Indiana and had been educated by the Catholic mission. In their treaty they insisted the "black robes" receive some of their allotments to run the church. We have over 150 ancestors still in the Louisburg area. My nephew is the Bishop of Lincoln Nebraska, a Wea. We are a prolife clan and involved in politics. Bobs life read like a member of our family. I look forward someday to my visit with Bob about the old homestead. My God give your family comfort at this time. Char Char
