I first met Bob around 1988. I was not happy with the price I received at the sale barn for my steers off pasture and a friend suggested I contact Bob. He always gave me a bid that was fair and I could accept or decline. Bob liked to buy cattle out in the country. One year Bob came out with to see my steers and had Wayne Tilly with him. I was prepared to negotiate with Bob on the price of the steers but decided to go ahead and accept the bid providing we use a 1.5% shrink instead of the traditional 2% shrink weighed on the truck. I looked directly at Wayne who nodded yes. Bob came unglued at Wayne handing Wayne the contract telling him "If you are going to accept a 1.5% shrink you are on your own". Bob walked off not happy. The next year Bob came out to view my steers Wayne was not with him :-)
